FOR the Plumber, BY the Plumber

We are NOT an Association, we are the organizers of the Rally. Our goal is to empower the plumber to stand up for themselves. This website is to convey the most accurate information and the 71KPLUMBSTRONG platform is to allow plumbers as individuals to be able to connect with others, work together, and make their own decisions.

What To Expect At The Meeting

71KPLUMBSTRONG

One of the organizers of the Rally will be speaking on our behalf at this meeting. We will be letting the Board know what our expectations are going forward. After this initial Board meeting, we will be preparing for more detailed topics to be discussed and addressed in accordance with the proper processes needed to accomplish our goals. In the future, we will publish the topics on this site that we have placed on the meeting agenda so others will know what we are addressing.

Yes, YOU Can Speak!

The meetings start at 9am sharp. Upon arrival, you can fill out a comment card and select the item on the existing meeting agenda you would like to comment publicly on.  Topics the Board has placed on the agenda will be available for view (7) days prior to the meeting, so be sure to check what topics will be brought up and prepare for comments.

Public comments are at the beginning of each meeting and you will have (3) minutes to speak. You can also request to add a specific topic to the agenda in advance at future meetings.

How To See The Meeting Agenda

The agenda for the board meeting is typically posted (7) days prior to the meeting. When you search for the open meeting, under the "Agency Name" type: "TEXAS STATE BOARD OF PLUMBING EXAMINERS" - then select find.

If nothing shows, the open meeting with agenda has not been posted yet. If you see the meeting, you can then click on it and print the agenda to see what topics you can comment on at the upcoming meeting.

BE PROFESSIONAL.

Our goal is to work WITH the Board and let them know that we are going to be supportive of them going forward to help us with the changes that need to be made. Honey goes a lot further than vinegar - it is time to work together, and ENCOURAGE them to work for us!

Parking is on the street.

PLEASE NOTE: WE WILL UPDATE THIS INFORMATION WHEN WE GET MORE DETAILS ON THE UPCOMING MEETING TIME & LOCATION.

Changing Rules & Plumbing Laws

How are we going to do this?

It is important to understand the processes required to make needed changes. It does not happen overnight and you can't simply attend a Board meeting and request changes.

  • RULES can be changed by the Plumbing Board. To get a rule change, a petition must be submitted in accordance with certain requirements to start this process.
  • LAWS must be changed in the legislature at the next legislative session in 2021. To get a law change, we must (and will be) working with State Representatives to draft bills to be voted on in the 2021 legislative session.

We will be putting together a lot of information over the coming months listing out all of the changes we are seeking to make as a group, and will begin the process to make those changes in the proper manner summarized above.

HOW YOU CAN HELP IN THIS:

  • You can petition the Board to change rules yourself and work with your representative on your own for law changes if you want.
  • You can provide your input within our group and work on the petitions and bills we are working on as a team.
  • You can SHOW UP to Board meetings with us which shows our support and strength in numbers, and you can comment publicly before the Board on topics we are all discussing on the agenda at the meetings.
  • You can start contacting your State Representatives and introduce yourself and let them know you would like to build a relationship for open dialog as we start introducing law changes over the coming months, and that you would love their support.
  • You can help keep other plumbers you know updated on the information we are putting out as a group and encourage them to get involved as well.

STAY TUNED - AFTER THE UPCOMING BOARD MEETING MUCH MORE DETAILED INFORMATION ON WHAT WE ARE WORKING ON SPECIFICALLY FOR CHANGE (AND HOW WE ARE GOING TO DO IT) WILL BE POSTED.

Below is a snippet from the Board Rules on HOW to petition to change existing rules:

Our Mission

We ACCOMPLISHED what we set out to do! The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners has been extended another two years thanks to and Executive Order signed by Governor Abbott! Our Rally was a huge success and everyone of us that joined together ACCOMPLISHED THIS AS A TEAM!

OUR MISSION going forward is to address the many issues our industry is facing by working with our Board and our State Representatives so we will be successful in the next legislative session to continue on.

We are NOT a big corporation, nor are we motivated by politics. We are a small group of individuals in the plumbing trade just like most of you. We are trying to do everything we can to protect what we believe in and are here standing along with you to see these important changes come to pass!

The Organizers

We felt the need to put our names here for the public so that others joining us know who we are and can see that we are just local plumbers and not an entity with any other motivation or hidden agenda. SO MANY of you have been also helping a great deal behind the scenes and we are VERY grateful for your support in helping all of us stand for what we believe is necessary!
